James Gunn's Superman- Legacy Casts Jimmy Olsen And Eve Teschmacher Roles

James Gunn’s Superman film, Superman: Legacy, is progressing steadily with new additions to its cast following the recent actors’ strike. The DC Studios production has enlisted Skyler Gisondo and Sara Sampaio for pivotal roles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gisondo (HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, Licorice Pizza), will portray Jimmy Olsen, the youthful photographer at The Daily Planet. Gisondo, who previously appeared in Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart, also brings prior superhero experience from the Andrew Garfield-led Amazing Spider-Man films. Sampaio, a Victoria’s Secret model, has been cast as Eve Teschmacher, the assistant and occasional confidante of the cunning antagonist Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult.

The new additions join the previously announced leads, with David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Filming is set to begin early next year, aligning with the film’s anticipated release date of Ju…

Japan Sets New 319 Terabits Per Second Internet Speed Record

While it’s not as attractive as a land-speed record set in Black Rock Desert, Japan’s latest benchmark when it comes to internet speed is much more impressive. Smashing the 178 terabits per second benchmark it set last year when it worked with UK engineers, the new internet speed record now stands at a lightning-fast 319 terabits per second, as originally reported by Vice.

To achieve this speed, Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) used advanced fiber-optic technology in a lab setting. The NICT system made use of an experimental strand of fiber-optic cable that featured four cores housed in a cable that was roughly the size of a regular fiber optic line.

Data was then looped through coiled bits of fiber optic that created a simulated transmission distance of 1,864 miles, with no degradation in speed being reported. With a path established, the researchers then used a 552-channel comb laser firing at multiple wavelengths through m…

It TV Show Welcome To Derry Officially Ordered To Series At HBO Max

HBO has announced that the It prequel TV series, Welcome to Derry, is officially moving ahead and has been ordered to series. The show, which comes from Warner Bros. Television, is being developed by the director of the movies, Andy Muschietti, along with his sister, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs.

Andy Muschietti is directing multiple episodes of Welcome to Derry, including the series premiere. Welcome to Derry is the show’s working title.

Little is known about the plot for the prequel series, but HBO says it will “expand the It storytelling canvas and bring fans deeper into the terrifying, mesmerizing town of Derry.”

The Muschiettis said in a statement that Stephen King’s It novel contains many more stories than could fit in the two movies. As such, they said, “We can’t wait to share the depths of Steve’s novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity, and horror.”

King himself said in a statement, “Red balloons all around!”

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead Lawsuit

The Walking Dead may have come to an end in 2022, but the potential courtroom battle for the show’s profits will continue. Via Deadline, a federal court judge has denied AMC’s attempt to dismiss the profit participation lawsuit filed by Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman, executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert, as well as former showrunners Charles Eglee and Glen Mazzara.

Frank Darabont, the original Walking Dead showrunner who developed the comic for television, kicked off over a decade of legal headaches for AMC when he and his representatives at CAA filed a lawsuit against the cable network in 2013. Among other issues, Darabont contended that AMC’s self-dealing in-house licensing fees cut him out of his promised share of the show’s revenue. Darabont also argued that his dismissal from the series during the production of Season 2 was an attempt to keep him from being fully financially vested in that season, which would have also impacted his payday.<…

Journey Director Jenova Chen On Why He Won't Play Final Fantasy VII Remake

Thatgamecompany’s co-founder and the director of Journey and Sky: Children of the Light goes by Jenova Chen, but that isn’t his real first name. In an interview with IGN, Chen shared that he picked Jenova while learning English in school. The class was instructed to pick English names and Chen’s friend (the only other video game fan in the class) picked Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. Chen decided he had to pick an even better character to outdo his friend, so he landed on Jenova, the ultra-powerful extraterrestrial being, after deciding Sephiroth was too difficult to pronounce and spell. “Jenova is absolutely way more badass than Cloud, so I picked that name,” Chen told IGN. Chen never intended for Jenova to be his proper name, but reverted to it in college when one of his professors struggled to pronounce his real name, Xinghan, and it has since stuck.

Needless to say, Jenova Chen is a fan of Final Fantasy VII, so we wanted to hear his thoughts on Final Fan…

Call Of Duty- Vanguard Dev Could Expand Beyond Call Of Duty Someday

Since its founding in 2009, Sledgehammer Games has exclusively developed Call of Duty games for parent company Activision, but it might not be that way forever. COO Andy Wilson (no relation to EA CEO Andrew Wilson) told VentureBeat that Call of Duty will remain the team’s main area of focus, but it might also explore other avenues.

“If you look at where we are right now, we’re obviously preparing to ship Vanguard. Clearly we’re also thinking about what comes next,” Wilson said. “The biggest thing for our team is that we want to constantly have interesting, exciting projects to work on. Obviously, Call of Duty is a huge pillar in the studio. It’s our primary focus, what we’re fully invested in right now. Whether there are other things in the future that we look at as well, we’ll take the time to think about all of those things. Culturally, we do that as well. We take the time to breathe occasionally and think about where we want to go.”

Sledgehammer’s main office is in Fo…

LOTR- Rings Of Power Showrunners Discuss "Patently Evil" Backlash To The Show

The Lord of the Rings TV series, The Rings of Power, had a strong start but it hasn’t landed with everyone. Some have criticized the show, for a number of reasons, and showrunner J.D. Payne says he can’t understand how anyone denouncing the show thinks they are fighting a good fight.

“The spirit of Tolkien is about disparate peoples who don’t trust one another and look different from one another finding common ground in friendship and accomplishing big things,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s the spirit we’ve tried to inculcate into every single comma and period in the show. That this aspiration would be offensive to people and enrage them … it’s very hard for us to understand. What are they protecting? I don’t see how people who are saying these things think that they’re fighting for good.”

Payne pointed to a quote from Galadriel in Rings of Power episode seven where she says every war is fought from without and within, and he believes this applies to the pe…

EA Announces New Deal With FIFPro But No Word Yet On FIFA

Electronic Arts has reached a new deal with FIFPro to offer “unparalleled realism” in its football games going forward amid its rights negotiations with FIFA that could see EA Sports drop the FIFA name from future games.

EA extended its deal with FIFPro–a group that represents football players and manages their rights around the world–on Tuesday as part of a “long-term commitment.”

FIFPro is one of the 300+ licensed partners that works with EA on its football series. In extending its deal with FIFPro, EA gets access to “thousands of player names and likenesses.” This is in addition to its many separate rights agreements with various licensing companies that give EA rights for the UEFA Champions League, Conmebol Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga, and LaLiga Santander.

“Our players regularly remind us that one of the most important aspects of an EA Sports experience is the deep immersion created through authentic use of the world’s greatest leagues, teams an…
